Arma 2 Helicopters Remastered brings you the majority of the missing helicopters from Arma 2 directly into the DayZ Expansion vehicles framework. All models have been ported while keeping the most amount of detail and features from the original models and expanded with more unique to DayZ. Features - Updated textures and materials for the majority of helis. - Animated and illuminated interiors/cockpits. - A set of extra lights with it's own key input to add more detail to the models. Position and collision lights. - Animated landing gear on the Mi24 Hind, KA52 Alligator and AW101 Merlin HC3. - Flying models tweaked to ensure no helicopter feels the same. - All models have a set of basic visual damage system in place, proper configuration to avoid invincible pilots or helis. - A Toolbox set of attachment slots that can hold a Wrench, CamoNet, Jerry Can and a Satellite Radio, to ensure compatiblity and ease of use for players with mods like Flip Transport. - The Satellite Radio can be used while flying any of the helis and has server wide range. Simply insert it into the slot before taking of and control it from the pilot seat as you please. - 30+ Skins across multiple helis ready to use thanks to the DayZ Expansion Spraycan systems with more to come. Most of them are the original color variants from Arma 2 along some new ones. - Expansion Vehicle Cover compatiblity. Covers are already included in this package ready to work with no extra configuration needed. Requirements and Installation A DayZ Expansion installation, either full or just vehicles is mandatory, the mod won't work without and won't ever be reworked for compatiblity with other helicopter mods. With that in mind, just install like any other mod, Expansion Market files and types.xml are included in the Extras folder. Future updates As if the madness of such amount of helicopters wasn't enough the future updates will bring even more content like: - 3 new Helicopters models. - More skins. - Updated sounds. - Material lightning and visual damage configs. - And yes, what everyone is going to ask for, a full set of weapons for each model. This is something that will eventually happen, no ETA at all cause it doesn't depend on just my work and it's something that needs to be done with a lot of attention and requires the talent of more people than just me. I highly discourage of trying to repack this mod else you'll miss out on these updates. As one of the greatest minds of this community once said. "Reducing mod count by repacking does nothing other than putting you behind on updates, prevents people from querying for specific mods when server surfing, forces people to redownload content they might already be subscribed to, and does nothing for performance (a rumor passed around by server owners)." Support If you would like to support this project you can do so here. Credits - The DayZ Expansion development team, without them and that mod i wouldn't be playing DayZ neither be interested at all in modding this game, their work has shaped and motivated me to learn and do basically everything that i do these days with the game. Special mention to LieutenantMaster for the countless hours of support and ideas for memes. - Thimerion and the Freedom35 community for the support and help in testing this project. To the 16 survivors who survived the Merlin test, i salute you. o7. - RagTyson for allowing me to use his personal radio script from his awesome LandRover mod to make the Satellite radio. - SixxGunZ, MIRXKU and FireCA☭, for allowing me to use the files of their mods for the research and learning process on the early stages of this project. There were very few Helicopters mods for expansion and all of them got lost in time, i extremely appreciate they allowed me to use their files to learn how to make this project happen. - Arma 3 creators Kadlik and Gr3n4d1er for allowing me to use their custom skins for the UH1Y Venom and AW159 Wildcat. - My dear friend Juanma for the countless hours of photoshop work. No file I/O on hot paths, no timers created per event, no per-player-per-frame hooks.
1 chain break, all on specific classes the mod replaces wholesale — matters only if another mod patches the same classes.
0.00248% of each server frame at 100 players (0.025 ms/s). Counts hook dispatch and timers only, not what the hooks do inside. Methodology.
Structural load of the 328 scripted mods analyzed, lightest on the left. This mod's bar is lit; 17 others share it. Ranked list.
Every-frame hooks carry 100% of this mod's structural load. 0.025 ms/s in all.
1 hook · 0.025 ms/s
| Every-frame hooksrun every server frame | 1 hook | 0.025 ms/s | 100% | ExpansionBlinkLight.EOnFrame |
Counts how often each hook is dispatched and how many timers stay alive, not what the code inside does. Some rates are order-of-magnitude estimates; the methodology lists which.
Chain breaks, by consequence
1 override that skip super(), ranked by how much they can affect. On any server a break replaces vanilla's behaviour on that method and silences every earlier-loaded mod hooking it.
EOnFrame
Only this class is affected. Matters only if another mod in your stack patches the same class.

Hooks on per-frame and high-rate surfaces, with what their bodies call. Body work, not the hook itself, is what costs frame time.
EOnFrame on ExpansionBlinkLightWhich vanilla methods the mod hooks, which of them drop the chain, how often each hook fires, and which risky calls sit inside hot hooks.
How long hook bodies take, network cost, or engine-side load. Measured across live fleets, most server lag comes from the engine and world state, not mod script chains — a light footprint does not clear a mod of lag, and a heavy one does not convict it. Methodology.

All 2 overrides
Surface is the dispatch tier the rubric can price (— = unpriced); server is whether the override exists on a dedicated server; super() shows whether the vanilla chain is preserved on a server.
