Blackbird Version 2.09 For DayZ 1.30 Stable on PC. Supports Chernarus and Livonia. Blackbird brings a living, animated bird to DayZ. Watch it hop across the ground, peck in search of worms, take flight and find a perch from which to fill the air with its beautiful song. The blackbird can be killed, its body picked up and butchered, and its meat cooked and eaten. Features A living blackbird with animated hopping, pecking and flight. Singing from perches, with varied song phrases and occasional flight calls. Flight and escape behaviour that responds to the surroundings. Tactical alarm: Fleeing birds and alarm calls can reveal nearby players. A body you can pick up, carry and butcher for edible meat. Server-controlled spawning through DayZ's ambient animal system. Translated bird, carcass and meat names and descriptions for all supported DayZ languages. Players and server owners Players: subscribe and load the mod through the DayZ Launcher when joining a server that uses it. No manual configuration is needed. Server owners: install the mod on both server and clients, and follow the included README.md to configure spawning. The ServerFiles folder contains 106 possible Chernarus spawn areas and 29 possible Livonia spawn areas around settlements, with one bird per activated area and up to 20 naturally spawned birds across the map. New spawns are suppressed within 350 metres of an existing living blackbird. Use the separate ServerFiles/Livonia instructions for Livonia. Other maps require their own territory coordinates; no other map configuration is included. No additional third-party mod is required. Blackbird on Nasdara The blackbird is also available for Nasdara! Blackbird – Nasdara Updating to DayZ 1.30 Stay subscribed to this same Workshop item and update the complete mod folder on both server and clients. This also applies if your earlier DayZ 1.29 package already shows Blackbird 2.09: the DayZ 1.30 animation assets and skeleton registration are part of this update. Include Anims/cfg/skeletons.anim.xml; replacing only the PBO or addons folder is insufficient. Keep the PBO and its matching signature together. Existing Chernarus and Livonia spawning configurations, custom territories and weltvolkZ.bikey can be kept; no new XML entries or wipe are required. For a first-time Livonia setup, follow ServerFiles/Livonia/README.md. Upgrading from v1.4 or earlier Already subscribed to Blackbird v1.4 or earlier? Stay subscribed! Version 2.09 updates this same Workshop item. Close DayZ, let Steam finish downloading the update, then join a server that has also updated. No new subscription or manual configuration is needed for players. Disable any separate local copy of the old mod. Server owners upgrading from v1.4 or earlier: spawning must be configured again. The old twelve built-in spawn locations are not carried over. Install the complete updated mod, including Anims/cfg/skeletons.anim.xml, remove any leftover Amsel.pbo and its signature from manually maintained server copies, and follow the migration section in README.md to set up the new ambient animal spawning. You can keep the @Blackbird folder name and the existing weltvolkZ.bikey. The supplied Chernarus territories provide a new distribution across settlement areas; review and adapt them for your server. Thank you for the inspiration and for helping me understand how to bring animals t

modperf has not read this mod's scripts, so there is no report and it is left out of any stack it appears in. 1 live server in the crawl publishes it.
The worker downloads the mod from the Workshop and reads its Enforce Script — nothing is executed. Usually a few minutes. This page then shows the report.
