Weather & Lighting Control gives server owners full control over DayZ's weather system through a single JSON config file. Define weather patterns, chain them into sequences that tell weather stories, tune volumetric fog, and randomize night darkness — all server-side, no scripting required. SERVER-SIDE ONLY — clients do not need to download or install anything. Optional companion mod: Install Weather & Lighting Control - COT Panel alongside this mod for an in-game admin GUI through Community Online Tools. WLC core works fully without it — chat commands cover everything the panel does. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3720376716 Features 30 weather patterns out of the box — from clear skies and golden hour to coastal squalls, thunderstorms, and pea soup fog. Weighted random selection with smooth transitions Weather sequences — short scripted weather stories: a storm builds and breaks, a squall blows through, fog rolls in at dawn. 9 sequences included Anti-repeat system — no more hours of nonstop rain. Forced dry breaks after consecutive rain, cooldowns between sequences, same-sequence blocking. Fully configurable Time-of-day weights — fog more likely at dawn, thunderstorms at dusk, clear skies during the day Seasonal weights — grey skies dominate winter, clear weather peaks in summer, fog rolls in during autumn Volumetric fog — 3D height-aware fog that pools in valleys and thins on hilltops. Works on all maps including Chernarus (DayZ 1.29+) Variable night darkness — randomized moon intensity each night. Some nights are pitch black, others moonlit Storm systems — lightning and thunder with configurable intensity, frequency, and overcast threshold Wind control — speed, direction, and gusting per pattern Admin commands — cycle, test, and force patterns live via chat. Start or cancel sequences on demand Optional COT admin panel — install the companion mod for a full in-game GUI: live pattern editor, force-pattern / start-sequence buttons, pause/resume, save-as-new, status display Ready to play — generates a complete production config on first launch. Works immediately, tune later State persistence — survives server restarts What's New in v2.8 COT admin panel split into an optional companion mod — WLC core is now strictly server-only with no COT dependency. Install WeatherLightingControl_COT separately if you want the in-game GUI; skip it for headless / chat-only deployments. Fixes a load-order conflict that previously could break COT entirely on servers running both Bug fix: overcast no longer drifts to 1.0 — patterns asking for low overcast (e.g. 0.20) used to silently walk upward toward fully overcast over the pattern's duration because of a missing engine lock parameter. All weather Set() calls now lock for the pattern's full lifetime. Skies hold the value the pattern intends Bug fix: rain plays at full configured intensity — patterns with rain_max near 1.0 were being silently capped at ~70% because of a misnamed multiplier (the old "rain_sound_level" field was multiplied into the rain value, dampening visuals and audio together). Heavy downpour now actually looks heavy Removed: rain_sound_level config field — DayZ does not expose a script-side rain audio multiplier. The field was always going to silently cap one of visuals or audio without controlling the other; it's been removed. Existing configs containing the key still load fine — DayZ ignores unknown keys Installation 1. Add -mod=@WeatherLightingControl to your server startup parameters. 2. Disable vanilla weather. In your mission folder, create or edit cfgweather.xml: <?xml version="1.0" encodin

modperf has not read this mod's scripts, so there is no report and it is left out of any stack it appears in. 3 live servers in the crawl publish it.

The worker downloads the mod from the Workshop and reads its Enforce Script — nothing is executed. Usually a few minutes. This page then shows the report.
