Short and Sweet = PLEASE RATE MOD TURN EXPANSION AI INTO ZOMBIES WITH GUNS that's right! This mods transforms your DayZ Expansion AI into armed, infected-style threats. Instead of standard AI soldiers, your server can feature decayed, zombie-like units equipped with firearms — creating a harsher, more unpredictable apocalypse. Perfect for hardcore PvE, RP scenarios, or servers looking to replace traditional infected with smarter, deadlier encounters. NOTE NOTE NOTE THIS MODE REQUIRES EXPANSION AI Installation: Download the mod/package. Add it to your server startup parameters: -mod=@Zombies_With_Guns Place the included .bikey file into your server’s keys folder. Navigate to: Profiles/ExpansionMod/AI/Loadouts/ Drop the provided .json file into the Loadouts folder. Restart your server. Once installed, your Expansion AI will spawn using the zombie-themed loadout. Description : If you’ve ever wanted your apocalypse to feel less predictable and more unsettling, this file gives you the framework. Instead of standard infected roaming the map unarmed, your AI can now appear as weaponized, decayed combatants — blending the horror of the infected with the lethality of trained shooters. Think evolution, not just infection. What Does This Do? This configuration applies a zombie-themed loadout to Expansion AI units. Server owners can remove traditional infected entirely and let AI serve as the new “evolved” threat — or integrate them alongside existing infected for layered encounters. The included JSON can be edited, allowing you to swap weapons, clothing, and gear directly within the file. Features: Weaponized Infected Concept AI units spawn with a zombie aesthetic while maintaining firearm capability. This creates a hybrid PvE experience that changes how players approach towns, military zones, and dynamic events. Fully Customizable Loadout All weapons and gear can be modified inside the provided JSON file. If you understand Expansion AI configuration, you can tailor difficulty, weapon tiers, and role-specific variants. Designed for RP or Hardcore PvE Perfect for narrative servers exploring infected evolution, experimental outbreaks, or “the fall of military containment” scenarios. Equally suited for high-threat survival environments where danger escalates fast. Installation Instructions: Download the provided .json file. Add the mod (if packaged) to your server start parameters: Example: -mod=@YourModName Place the included .bikey file into your server’s keys folder. Navigate to your server profile folder: Profiles/ExpansionMod/AI/Loadouts/ Drop the .json file into the Loadouts directory. Restart your server. That’s it. Your Expansion AI can now operate as armed infected units. Final Notes: This configuration does not replace Expansion AI — it enhances it. It does not add new mechanics; it redefines presentation and threat design through loadout control. If you want smarter enemies that look like they crawled out of a nightmare but fight like they trained for it, this setup delivers. Your apocalypse. Your rules. SPECIAL CREDIT This configuration is inspired by the mod Playable Zombie Skins created by Winst0n. The visual concept and infected-style character work that made this possible are built on the foundation of that project. Special thanks to Winst0n for the original work and for contributing to the creativity and flexibility that keeps the DayZ modding community evolving.
