🧟 Dead Ahead 🧟 Created by fallenangel.sys 📢 End of Development & End of Beta The beta phase of Dead Ahead has officially ended. Dead Ahead is now considered a completed project. No further updates, bug fixes, features, content additions, or expansions are planned for this version. The mod will remain available and completely free for everyone to use. I would like to thank everyone who supported the project, reported bugs, provided feedback, tested features, and helped make Dead Ahead what it is today ❤️ 🚀 A New Project Is Coming Development of a completely new version and successor project has already begun. Unlike Dead Ahead, which uses vanilla infected models, the new project will be built around actual player-based infected models. The goal is to create a significantly more immersive, realistic, and technically advanced experience than was possible with Dead Ahead. The upcoming project will not be released as a free mod and will be distributed differently. More information will be announced in the future. If you are interested in obtaining a copy once it becomes available, add me on Discord and stay tuned for future announcements. ☠ Death Is No Longer Simply the End. Dead Ahead changes what happens after a player dies. Instead of becoming just another forgotten body on the ground, dead survivors return as Dead Ahead Zombies — including their equipped items, weapons, clothing, backpacks, and all inventory contents. Your loot is no longer simply waiting safely at your death location. Sometimes it gets back up. Sometimes it walks around. And sometimes you have to hunt it. 🧰 Features Dead players return after death as Dead Ahead Zombies The zombie inherits the player's complete equipment Clothing, weapons, backpacks, and all inventory contents are preserved The condition of all items is preserved — including ruined items Magazines, ammunition, and weapon states are saved and restored Transformation only begins when no players are nearby Fresh-spawn protection prevents unwanted transformations immediately after spawning Minimum lifetime before transformation is configurable Minimum travel distance before transformation is configurable Dead Ahead Zombies can move away from their original death location after transformation Post-transformation wandering with configurable radius, delay, and path recalculation interval Safety checks prevent invalid wander targets and positions in water The wander origin is saved and restored after server restarts Living Dead Ahead Zombies hide their inventory Loot only becomes available after the zombie has been killed Uses normal DayZ infected behavior Improved idle, calm, disturbed, alerted, and chase sounds Proper male and female infected voices Dead Ahead Zombies persist through server restarts Male and female variants included Admin-spawnable test classes included Extensive server settings configurable through JSON No additional mods or dependencies required 🎮 Gameplay Loop You die You respawn You run back But your body may no longer be there Something is walking around With your backpack With your weapon With your gear With everything you lost You are no longer just looking for your body. You are hunting it. 🖥 Mod Information Dead Ahead must be installed on both the server and the client Transformations, zombie data, and runtime data are managed server-side Server owners retain full control over behavior and settings Adjustments are made through JSON configuration files Detailed explanations of the configuration and runtime files can be found in the pinned discussions

modperf has not read this mod's scripts, so there is no report and it is left out of any stack it appears in. 20 live servers in the crawl publish it.
The worker downloads the mod from the Workshop and reads its Enforce Script — nothing is executed. Usually a few minutes. This page then shows the report.
