Bring your DayZ server to life with the Ambient Audio Mod (AAM)! DayZ offers beautiful landscapes, but the forests and lakes can often feel empty and completely silent. AAM changes that by introducing a highly optimized, dynamic, and fully configurable ambient sound system that completely overhauls the atmosphere of the game. 🌲 Dynamic Forest Audio Wander through the woods and experience a living ecosystem. The mod dynamically calculates the player's environment and plays highly immersive 3D sounds: Branch Snaps: Hear twigs snapping near the ground around you. Owls: Haunting hoots echoing through the trees during the night. Squirrels & Birds: Realistic vertical 3D audio! Squirrel sounds and bird wing flaps are generated high up in the treetops during the day, making you look up into the branches. 🐸 Water Ecosystems Lakes and ponds are no longer dead zones. AAM allows server owners to set specific coordinates for bodies of water. When players approach these areas, they will hear: Cranes: Distant, beautiful crane calls echoing over the water during the evening. Frogs: A 3D-positioned chorus of frogs reacting to the player's distance during the evening and night. 🦗 Seamless Nighttime Crickets When the sun goes down, a beautiful, wide-stereo loop of crickets will smoothly fade in. This is rendered locally in 2D to provide a rich, immersive "wall of sound" without hurting server performance, and smoothly fades out at dawn. ⚙️ For Server Admins (Fully Configurable) This mod was built with server performance and ultimate freedom in mind. Upon first launch, the mod generates an AAM_Config.json file in your server profile folder ($profile:/AmbientAudioMod/). You have full control over: Enable/Disable any specific sound (don't like squirrels? Turn them off!). Spawn Chances: Adjust the probability of every single sound event. Ranges: Define exactly how far players can hear the frogs or cranes. Custom Coordinates: Easily add unlimited X Y Z coordinates for your lakes and ponds. Tick Rate: Control the server query frequency to match your server's performance needs. Optimization: The mod relies on an intelligent Client-Server RPC architecture. Heavy calculations and long loops are handled purely client-side, ensuring zero impact on server FPS. Transform your map into a breathing, living world. Subscribe and experience the true sound of survival!

modperf has not read this mod's scripts, so there is no report and it is left out of any stack it appears in. 1 live server in the crawl publishes it.
The worker downloads the mod from the Workshop and reads its Enforce Script — nothing is executed. Usually a few minutes. This page then shows the report.
