NVG Realism

NVG Realism A realism patch for CJ187-ImmersiveNVG that makes its night vision behave like real image intensifier tubes. It contains none of CJ's files: it loads after his mod and changes it at runtime, so you need both. Works with CJ's current build on DayZ 1.30. His June 2025 build doesn't load on 1.30 (the goggles don't flip down); this mod fixes that from the outside until his update is out, and those fixes… (more)

NVG Realism A realism patch for CJ187-ImmersiveNVG that makes its night vision behave like real image intensifier tubes. It contains none of CJ's files: it loads after his mod and changes it at runtime, so you need both. Works with CJ's current build on DayZ 1.30. His June 2025 build doesn't load on 1.30 (the goggles don't flip down); this mod fixes that from the outside until his update is out, and those fixes switch themselves off once it is. Features Every goggle rolls its own tube: Gen 1, Gen 2+ or Gen 3, a FOM, green or white phosphor Tube details in the item description, saved with the item Grain from the tube's FOM and the real light level: clean under a moon, grainy on dark nights Gen 2+ and Gen 1 tubes get darker sooner as the light drops; Gen 1 needs moonlight PVS-7 split eyepiece is dimmer; binoculars a bit brighter and cleaner Monochrome image with real phosphor colours (P43 green, P45 white, P20 Gen 1) Real 40° field of view (GPNVG-18 97°), round tube, black outside, correct at any screen shape and zoom No screen flash when switching off Real battery runtimes (14 h to 50 h depending on model) Eyepiece glow in the phosphor's colour, or off EyeAdapt support: monoculars keep your other eye dark adapted /nvg admin command to set any goggle's tube Tubes When a pair of goggles first spawns it rolls a tube from its model's range (mid FOMs common, the ends rare): ModelTubeFOMWhite phosphor TIG-7Gen 1400-700never AN/PVS-760 % Gen 3 / 40 % Gen 2+1200-1800 / 900-140010 % / 15 % AN/PVS-1470 % Gen 3 / 30 % Gen 2+1600-2400 / 1200-180040 % / 25 % BC/NVG-21Gen 31800-240085 % AN/PVS-23Gen 31600-220050 % GPNVG-18Gen 31800-240090 % How it works Noise: FOM = signal-to-noise ratio x resolution. Noise grows as the light drops (photon noise), from about 0.25 lux under a full moon to 0.0001 lux on an overcast moonless night. Under a moon every tube is clean; on a dark night FOM and generation show. Two-tube binoculars look about 1.25x cleaner (both eyes average the noise). Brightness: auto-brightness holds every tube at the same level while there's enough light for its gain. Below that the image dims: Gen 2+ (lower gain) about 1.3 EV darker than Gen 3 on a dark night, Gen 1 nearly black without a moon. The PVS-7 splits one tube to both eyes (-1 EV). Battery: PVS-14 50 h (one AA), PVS-7 40 h (two AA), TIG-7 30 h (one CR123), BC/NVG-21 and PVS-23 16 h (one AA), GPNVG-18 14 h (four CR123). EyeAdapt: with EyeAdapt loaded, goggles cost dark adaptation and EyeAdapt's night boost steps aside while you wear them. Monoculars cost only the one-eye dose. Admin command For Steam64 IDs in the config's Admins list (no #login needed, works next to VPP). Acts on the goggles in your hands, or else the ones you wear: /nvg: show the tube /nvg 2400 white, /nvg gen2 1500 green, /nvg gen3: set it /nvg roll: roll a new random tube Server owners Needs Community Framework (CF). Load CF and CJ187-ImmersiveNVG before NVG Realism. EyeAdapt is optional, in any position. Copy the key from keys/ to your server's keys folder. The config is written on the first start to profiles/NVGRealism/config.json and sent to every player on connect, so you tune it on the server without anyone re-downloading anything. A preset with glow off and real battery life is in the mod's extras/ folder; all settings are explained in extras/README.md. C

modperf has not read this mod's scripts, so there is no report and it is left out of any stack it appears in. 1 live server in the crawl publishes it.

The worker downloads the mod from the Workshop and reads its Enforce Script — nothing is executed. Usually a few minutes. This page then shows the report.
